Yoga Workshops

Yateley, Hampshire

Yoga is much more than what we do ‘on the mat’. Patanjali systemised yoga in the 15th century into an eight limbed approach following on from the ancient yoga texts. These workshops will explore these elements starting with gentle posture work (Asana), breathing exercises (Pranayama), meditation (Dhyana), mantra (Sanskrit chanting) and study of the yoga teachings. There will also be a Yoga Nidra (sleep) enabling total relaxation.

These workshops are suitable for anyone regardless of whether you’ve been practicing yoga for years or are a beginner. It’s an opportunity to take a break from all the stress and noise of everyday life and give yourself time to connect with the tranquillity and peace which are always within but so often obscured by our constant chattering mind and the demands of daily life .

The day will start with a gentle Asana session with stretching and gentle postures to wake the body. There will be morning and afternoon sessions with Meditation, Pranyama and an exploration of the yoga teachings. There will also be a Yoga Nidra session during which you will experience withdrawal of the senses (Pratyahara), the fifth of the eight limbs of Patanjali’s yoga, resulting in deep relaxation and self-awareness.

Teas/coffees and refreshments will be provided for breaks. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy while relaxing and socialising with the group.
